Workshops & Trainings
Black Girls Can Heal offers a series of quarterly workshops and healing conversations designed to support the spiritual, emotional, and mental well-being of Black women. These gatherings create space for learning, reflection, and practical healing — meeting women exactly where they are in their walk with God, without pressure or expectation.
All offerings are flexible and may shift based on community needs, seasonal changes, or emerging wellness trends, ensuring our approach remains responsive, compassionate, and culturally attuned.
Healing Conversations
Our Healing Conversations are intimate, virtual discussions hosted via Zoom or Instagram Live. These gatherings are intentionally accessible, low-barrier spaces that allow women to join from wherever they are — whether that’s at home, on a lunch break, or in the middle of a difficult season.
Each conversation focuses on real-life topics that Black women navigate daily, blending clinical insight, spiritual grounding, and honest dialogue. Women are free to engage quietly or participate openly, cultivating a space where transparency and grace coexist.
Topics may include:
Healing After Hard Seasons
Breaking Soul Ties & Emotional Cycles
Faith When Life Isn’t Making Sense
Restoring Your Identity in God
Navigating Mental Health as a Black Woman
Creative Healing Workshops
Our Creative Healing Workshops are quarterly, immersive experiences designed to help women process emotions, deepen their faith, and explore new paths to healing through creativity. These workshops are offered in hybrid formats — some held in-person throughout New York City and others virtually — allowing flexibility based on weather, season, and community needs.
Each workshop integrates clinical insight, faith-based principles, and expressive practices that strengthen emotional regulation, self-awareness, and spiritual grounding. Because these gatherings are more experiential, they are offered as paid events, with accessible pricing to ensure inclusivity.
Workshops may include:
Writing to Heal: A guided journey using storytelling, journaling, and reflection to release emotional weight and rediscover personal voice.
Art & Identity: A creative workshop using paint-based or mixed-media projects to explore identity, faith, and personal transformation.
Breathwork & Poetry: A session blending breathwork practices with spoken word prompts to help women release tension and reconnect with the body.
Vision & Prayer Boards: A faith-centered creative retreat focused on discernment, clarity, and spiritual goal-setting.
Restoration Through Movement: A gentle movement-based workshop incorporating stretching, grounding prayers, and mindful embodiment.
Each offering is structured to meet women at the center of their everyday realities — balancing life demands with the need for spiritual and emotional restoration.
Why These Offerings Matter
Both the Healing Conversations and Creative Healing Workshops serve as vital pillars of the BGCH mission. They give women practical, faith-centered tools for managing life’s challenges, navigating mental health concerns, and strengthening their relationship with God. For many women, these sessions become an entry point into deeper healing, supportive community, and long-term wellness.
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”
— Psalm 147:3 (NIV)
