Offerings

Cultivate Emotional Support

The primary objective of this support group is to create a space where Black women can share their experiences, challenges, and triumphs. This includes providing emotional support, validation, and empathy. The group will encourage open and honest conversations that allow members to express their feelings, frustrations, and insecurities and celebrate their achievements and successes.

Empowerment and Self-Advocacy

Emoower Her aims to empower Black women to become self-advocates. Through sharing resources, providing skill-building opportunities, and offering mentorship, the group will help women develop confidence in their abilities, increase their leadership skills, and advocate for themselves within their academic and professional environments.

Foster Networking and Community

Building a solid support network is crucial for the group's success. The support group will encourage networking and community-building opportunities within the group and external connections with other organizations, professional groups, and alumni networks. These connections will give Black women a sense of belonging and expand their support system.

Promote Mental Health and Well-Being

Recognizing the toll that graduate studies and societal pressures may have on mental health, the support group will prioritize promoting self-care strategies, stress management techniques, and overall well-being. This may include organizing workshops, inviting mental health professionals as guest speakers, and providing resources for mental health support.

"If you educate a man, you educate an individual. But if you educate a woman, you have educated a nation."
