Soft Life Saturdays

Soft Life Saturdays offer Black women a gentle, restorative space to pause, reset, and reconnect with God. Hosted once a month, these sessions require no ongoing commitment — women are free to attend whenever their heart, schedule, or spiritual walk leads them. This program reflects the heart of Black Girls Can Heal: to model the character of Christ by meeting every woman exactly where she is, honoring her capacity, and providing refuge without pressure. Whether she joins every month or just a few times a year, each woman is welcomed with open arms, compassion, and community.

What to Expect Each Month

Community & Connection

Each gathering offers a warm, open-space environment where women can simply show up and exhale. Sessions begin with centering conversation, an opportunity to settle in, and time for genuine connection without pressure or expectation. Whether someone is in a season of joy, healing, exhaustion, or uncertainty, she is embraced with compassion and community care.

Spiritual Wellness

Every session includes a faith-centered component designed to nourish the spirit and restore a sense of grounding. This may look like a short devotional, a group prayer moment, a scripture reflection, or a guided spiritual practice. Women are free to participate at their comfort level, encouraging an atmosphere that honors individual walks with God.

Physical & Mental Wellness

Soft Life Saturdays integrates activities that encourage gentle movement, mindful rest, and emotional wellness. Depending on the season, women may engage in a prayer walk through the city, a quiet morning of yoga in the park, or a reflective journaling session over coffee. Each activity is curated to support mental clarity, reduce stress, and promote physical ease.

Healing Activities & Experiences

Throughout the year, gatherings will offer rotating experiences such as: Coffee & Journaling Meetups, Bible & Brunch Gatherings, Restorative Yoga Sessions, Prayer Board Dinners, Art-Based Reflection Activities, and Gentle Outdoor Wellness Moments.  These experiences are designed to promote healing, joy, authenticity, and rest — and to remind each woman that softness is not a luxury, but a sacred practice.

Monthly Calendar

Soft Life Saturdays will be held on the 3rd Saturday of every month beginning in 2026, with adjustments made for weather, holidays, or community needs. A full seasonal schedule will be released annually to support accessibility and planning. Events take place throughout New York City, with most gatherings offered at no cost or low cost.

Why This Matters

Soft Life Saturdays is more than a monthly gathering — it is a lifeline for women navigating demanding roles, heavy responsibilities, and seasons of transition. By providing consistent, accessible spaces for rest, reflection, and spiritual nourishment, this program helps Black women rebuild capacity, strengthen emotional resilience, and reconnect with God in a way that feels safe, personal, and unforced.

For donors and partners, this initiative represents a powerful opportunity to support community wellness, expand mental health accessibility, and invest in faith-centered healing work that directly strengthens Black women in New York City. Every contribution helps sustain free programming, create safe restorative environments, and ensure that no woman is turned away from the rest she deserves.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

— Matthew 11:28 (NIV)
